The newest vessel in the production fleet, the Westcat Excell 8000 is a unique model. Building on the proven 7500 hull, of which over 18 are now in service around Western Australia, this hull has surpassed all expectations. The Excell is a wide version of the Extreme*, offering an additional 1.5sqm of deckspace, wider gunwhales and an even more stable fishing platform. Built using quality isothalic gelcoat, vinylester resins ensure a quality hull. The boat is designed to cope with any weather the West Australian coast can throw at it. Commercial survey standard features are available upon request.
Take the Extreme, widen by nearly 0.5m, add a full length wavebreaker and you have the Westcat Excell 8000. The wide, tapered tunnel provides a dry ride, unique to Westcats, which means none of that fine misty spray over the back deck. Wide assymetrical sponsons provide ample room to install stern shaft or jet propulsion packages and give turning normally seen on monohulls, rolling further into the turn the tighter you steer. Dependant on power options and vessel weight, speeds of up to 46kts can be achieved.
